🔑 Key Advantages:
v Universal Machine Fit: Works on all vertical drilling machines and milling machines with rotating spindles whether reversing or non-reversing. As well as Radial drilling machines [ In Manual Mode ].
v Tap Compatibility: Accepts all standard HSS tap sets and non-standard HSS taps, only the proper tap length is required.
v Material Suitability: Optimized for ductile metals like MS and CI Casting, and also suitable for Low Carbon Steel.
v Cost-Efficient Tapping: Enables fast multi-size tapping at low cost with a single attachment.
v User Requirement: For best performance, operation by a skilled machinist & semi-skilled machinist is recommended.
v High-Speed Output: Enables tapping faster than TCNR Model and suited for rapid multi-size tapping at low cost.
v Die Holder Model DH – Versatile Threading Solution: The Die Holder Model DH transforms a standard tapping attachment into a high-efficiency threading tool with a simple die-holder insertion. This smart integration enables dual-purpose functionality tapping and threading without changing machines. It’s a cost-saving, space-efficient choice for any machine shop aiming to boost productivity with minimal setup.
⚡️Quick & Easy Installation – Model TCN:
v Insert the tap into the attachment's chuck and align it properly.
v Lightly tighten the square nuts to hold the tap squarely in place.
v Secure the tap by tightening the chuck nut this grips the tap firmly via the jaws set.
v Adjust cup nut to control tapping load:
Ø Turn clockwise to increase load (upgrade torque).
Ø Turn anticlockwise to decrease load (downgrade torque).
v Ensure Firm Workpiece Fixation During Tapping: Secure the job rigidly and firmly before tapping to prevent movement, ensure accurate threading, and avoid tool breakage.
v Blind Hole – Drill Depth Recommendation: The drilled hole should be approximately 2 to 3 mm deeper than the required tapping depth. This extra depth provides clearance for the tap's lead-in point, ensuring accurate threading and preventing bottoming out.
v Torque Bar TCN (Mandatory For Reversing Mechanism) – Stopper Installation Possibilities: There are two possible methods for setting the stopper
Ø Upper Side Installation: Mount a vertical rod on the Drill Setting Bar located on the upper side of the machine.
Ø Bottom Side Installation: Mount a vertical rod in the T-slot at the bottom side of the machine.
v Tapping Chamfer: A tapping chamfer is necessary to ensure proper thread formation and tool performance during the tapping process. It is the tapered portion at the front of a tap that gradually engages the material, distributing the cutting load across multiple teeth. This taper is essential for reducing stress on the tap, improving alignment, and producing clean, accurate threads.
Ø The type of hole - Through or Blind - determines the appropriate chamfer style:
Ø Long chamfers (Type B) are ideal for through holes and offer better surface finish and lower cutting pressure.
Ø Medium chamfers (Type C) are standard for blind holes.
Ø Short chamfers (Type E) are used when clearance is limited at the bottom of the hole.
🎯 High-Precision Features:
v Reversible Operation: Taps right- or left-hand threads without any modification.
v Tap Safety: Advanced clutch protects taps from breakage with ultra-sensitive overload response.
v Improved Thread Quality: Axial float and cushioned drive prevent cross-threading and ensure gauge-perfect threads.
v Rapid Retraction: Planetary reverse mechanism provides 50% faster retraction than the feed rate.
v Consistent Depth Control: Neutral mechanism ensures precise tapping depth every time.
v Production-Ready: Capable of handling both batch quantities and mass production with ease.
v Jaw Set System: Equipped with a precision Jaw Set and adjustable left/right locking nuts, the attachment accommodates all standard tap sizes within its rated capacity. This ensures a secure grip, minimal vibration, and optimal tapping accuracy.
📐 Technical Operating Range:
v Threading Speed: 150–700 RPM depending on material and tap condition (Always use coolant for finish-grade threads and longer tap life.)
v Material Hardness: 50–60.5 HRA, 81–97 HRB, 0–20 HRC, [ Rockwell ]
v Max. Tapping Depth: Up to 3× to 4× the tap diameter. [ Length × Diameter ]

🛠️ Maintenance Note:
To extend the life of this tapping attachment or any die head, die holder, or tap chuck avoid constant use at upper or lower limit capacities. Consider rotating between two or three units for heavy-duty applications.
🎯 Torque Setting Guide:
This guide provides standardized torque values for adaptors with safety clutches, organized by thread type. Use these values as a baseline, adjusting for material strength and thread conditions.
A torque conversion/lookup chart that aligns torque values (Nm) with different thread standards:
Ø Metric (M)
Ø BSW (British Standard Whitworth)
Ø BSP Parallel (British Standard Pipe, parallel)
Ø BSF (British Standard Fine)
Ø BSP Taper
Ø BA (British Association)
Ø PG (Panzergewinde, German conduit thread)
Ø NPT Taper (National Pipe Taper)
Ø UNC (Unified Coarse)
Ø UNF (Unified Fine)
Usage Notes
Ø Values include a wear factor of 100% for materials with tensile strength ≤ 1000 N/mm² (145,000 lbs/in²).
Ø For non‑ferrous materials (e.g., aluminum alloys, brass), torque may be considerably lower.
Ø For tougher materials (e.g., S. S., Tool Steel ), increase torque by up to 50%.
Ø For cold‑forming threads, increase torque by 40–100%.
